VIEW rare books in the Bruckheimer Library,

including children’s books from young O’Connor’s

personal collection.

WALK in the yard where the young Mary Flannery

O’Connor taught a chicken to walk backwards.

TOUR a restored Savannah home that reflects

life during the Depression era.

SHOP from our collection of books by and about

O’Connor, as well as an array of gift items.

Born in Savannah, Georgia on March 25,1925,

where she lived until 1938.

Three-time winner of the O. Henry Award and winner

of the National Book Award for Fiction.

Author of the acclaimed novels Wise Blood (later

adapted for the screen by director John Huston)

and The Violent Bear It Away.

Author of 32 short stories – including such classics as

“A Good Man is Hard to Find” and “Good Country People.”
